Hot Water...

We got it!
(to be exclaimed in Tom Hank's voice from Polar Express)
The SCE&G man came early this morning, bearing gifts of hot wash water and warm showers to all.
(for a nominal fee, of course)
Now all we gotta do is get the rest of our furniture and the cable/internet cut on, and we can begin to settle in.
I know you must be asking yourself how I'm posting if there is no internet... all I can say is "Arrgh, matey that's enough questions outta ye..."
(to be imagined in a piratey voice, otherwise rendered ineffective)
Updates will follow-quite inconsistently and much like a nagging itch

Bluffton-ites (again)

The new (to us) house was vacated earlier than expected, so our move (which was alluded to in another blog: FaltLife) happened this weekend. This is what it looks like this morning:

But no complaints! I'm as rested and ready to go as one gets from a cold sponge bath before bed (gas not on, Memorial Day weekend....go figure) and a floor nap on upside down mattresses (at least it wasn't the box spring)

Updates will persist.

Substitute Teacher

Because we have finished our curriculum for the school term and in light of our impending (imposing!) move, Aletheia has called in a substitute teacher- Discovery Network!

As a result, we all have this song stuck in our head, not to mention some dandy survival skills should we ever find ourselves stranded in a forest, or Africa.

I am not ashamed to admit I would put this on my iPod. I really DO love the whole world, its an amazing place.

PAC_Pantomime Excercise

Recently, Miss Megan had the children show us some excercises that they have been doing in Performing Arts Club. I finally broke down and bought QuickTime PRO in order to patch all the little clips together- unfortunately no amount of upgrading can fix the small, grainy cell phone images, but at least you'll get a rough idea of what they do in this club.

They opened as a whole group with a warm up "dance" :"

Then they broke off into smaller groups and pantomimed different settings or types of people.

And then of course, they all took a bow:

The Performing Arts Club members take a bow after their pantomime excercise:

PAC Warm Up Dance

I finally broke down and bought QuickTime Pro-- it was worth every penny to quickly patch these little clips together...free ware isn't always as straight forward, ya know? Unfortunately it was taken with my camera phone, so nothing can help the grainy little picture- still, here is a little taste of what the youngins do at Performing Arts Club:

SandGnats

A while back(4/24/2008), the BrewCrew headed over to Grayson Stadium to check out the fresh paint and new scoreboard as well as watch a couple innings of ball between the Savannah SandGnats and Rome Braves- here are the few camera phone pics I snapped (forgot to pack my regular "gun" so the shots aren't that great)

Enjoy anyhow!

Thursday @ the Park

We met Sharon, Liam and Aaron @ the park on Thursday (after Speech) for a little quality play time. Here are some pics:

I think this one is my favorite:
Of course, right after this and shortly before our pals arrived, the camera battery died and there were no more pictures of all our fun:( (go figure!)

Performing Arts Club Finale

The first Tuesday in May (5/6/2008) was our last time together at Performing Arts Club in Savannah Children's Theatre.
My favorite line from the day? "HEY! What are you doing with my penguin?!"

At the Driving Range

Last weekend, the BrewCrew hit the driving range and I brought along my book. ( I spent more time helping Fisher balance the ball on the tee and snapping "action shots" but a book is always a good companion)

Field Trip Friday-MAY 2nd

Because we were in Columbia on this particular Friday, we decided to take in the
South Carolina State Museum ( as opposed to our usual tour of EdVenture).
I got much grief over this decision- they know EdVenture is full of kid friendly fun- until we got in the doors... then it was all "Thank you" and "Sorry for griping" and "Can we buy space food?" (yes)
Of course, there is always a ying for every yang, right? There was as much grief (or more) over the decision to leave the museum as there had been because we chose to go inside.
Ah, kids!
