Q

"Q" is for QUALITY.
Dad used to work in QC. Spotting and collecting occurrences of the word QUALITY became a family hobby of sorts. The quest for true quality resulted. It makes no sense to value anything less.

I am also reminded of BBQ and WBBQ.

My brother and I spent more time on the road than Willie Nelson & his friends, and one of the games we were taught to keep occupied is the one I've been playing here on my blog for the last month or so... the ALPHABET GAME... you started with A and the first player to Z was the winner... as long as you were on the highway, it was smooth sailing and a pretty even playing field. It was on those back country roads, populated only by cotton that things began to get tricky. You could get all the way up to "P" and then be stuck for hours, for lack of a quality "Q" Your best bet was at the end of "B B Q"-- usually painted on a pink pig and hanging in front of a smoking lean-to. But if you got all the way back home to Augusta and you were still stuck , you could bank on a WBBQ billboard freeing you to zoom all the way to X where, typically you'd bog down again for a bit.

Oh, and wasn't WBBQ some kind of station back in the day, all you fellow Augusta natives? Who needed WKRP in Cinncinatti? We had our Q cards!
