Medieval Festival

Nothing Happens Here... really, for all the wonderful and historical significance to be found in Savannah, it is quite a boring town.

So when the clowns finally do arrive, when the last tent has been staked down and the show is ready to begin, you can usually find me within a whiff of the nearest elephant or taking notes from the closest freak...

Saturday was no exception... The SCA- or Society for Creative Anachronism- held a little shindig and we was all of us invited to attend.

Now, before some of you ultra suspicious types start trying to have me exorcised or excommunicated, I should explain that the folks over at the SCA are only using big words to try and scare you-- that is why they insist on continuing to use olde English while the rest of us have graduated on towards more streamlined forms of speech like Ebonics.

You may be tempted to confuse Anachronism with Anarchy, and though there was plenty of fighting, it was all with great chivalry and honor.

Plus, they really believe they are knights and stuff... a little wacky perhaps, but harmless at the end of the day.

The kids got to 'Whack a Knight' 'Ride a Steed (a.k.a. pony)' Shoot a Crossbow and make knight stuff...

Here's a peek (pre-camera battery's tragic and sudden death):
