HummingBees

Logan calls them HummingBees without thinking, then she catches herself and corrects it to Hummingbirds, but I kinda like HummingBees myself:

Lady Marmalade

(pan is ready when butter bubbles) Turn pan to coat...if planning to fill as Blintzes, brown only on one side. STEP 5: Place on plate and keep covered until ready to serve to keep from drying out. Fold into triangles, sprinkle with powdered sugar and say something French. Optional Blintz step: Fill center of crepe with filling on un-browned side... fold sides in and roll up. Return to skillet with seam side down - brown lightly for approx 1 min. LoungeLizard

LoungeLizard , originally uploaded by kellybrewer . This little baby joined me on the lounge chair by the pool for a while. Poor thing was scared(I could tell by his little pulsing heart) as I tried to corral him off and into the palm tree area...but not before taking his picture, of course.

Unisex Bathroom

We had dinner at the Squat-n-Gobble last night- a very quirky place with Greek and American cuisine and the alleged limbs of Osama Bin Laden hanging from the attic... There is a shared bathroom- a unisex deal that Logan was having no part of... I thought the sign over the urinal was chuckle worthy (as well as the fact that I was in the room with a urinal--a situation I try to avoid when possible):

Pool Pics

(I just LOVE these guys!) The kids and I took to the pool yesterday after praying for sun. I was able to get some sun and school planning done after I chased the baby lizard from my lounge chair. The kids of course stayed in the water as much as possible. Chandler especially is all about Olympic swimming and learning new strokes lately... who isn't in awe of Phelps this week? We ordered pizza ahead of time- to arrive at noon- I was especially impressed by my ability to think ahead in this situation :) I wished I would have ordered a larger one to share with the many people who landed up at the pool around lunch time, however...ever bring a small pizza to a pool surrounded by people? It's like you planned to be mean...the look they give you as you carry your food to the table, well... it's a good thing looks can't kill... Unfortunately we weren't finished with lunch long before the pool had to be evacuated because of a leaky (or lacking) swim diaper... Here's...

Little Phelps

They are all about Michael Phelps and swimming for the Olympics these days:

Sunshine

Sunshine , originally uploaded by kellybrewer . We prayed for sunshine and got it... spent several hours at the pool yesterday- the kids doing their best Michael Phelps, me reading, scribbling in my journal and doing a little school planning... all was well until the accident... the someone-should've-been-wearing-a-swim-diaper accident (no one in our swim party, mind you)... we had things to do anyway, but it was a shame to have to evacuate on this day when they promised us rain that never came. The pool should be clean by now--perhaps we can beat Fay's rains for a quick dip one more day....gotta run!

Right round...

Sunday's Gator

Ribbit

aligator 007 , originally uploaded by kellybrewer . These little frogs find their way onto our windows most every night. I love the night music they make but most of all I love their little sticky looking feet... I often tap on the glass and secretly hope they'll eat one of the moths hovering nearby... until I get brave enough to stand within hopping distance of the actual frogs, undersided belly shots will have to suffice... tonight's frog count: 4
